Circuit Training

How often do you change up your workout routine? I normally stick to body building and stick with running or the stair mil for cardio. But Wednesday night I decided to join in my husband’s workout which was a circuit style training.

It was great to workout with hubby. We normally don’t workout together anymore due to different training styles. The night made for a friendly competition.

We started the night with shoulder press to work on strength. We did eight sets of 3.

The circuit was as follows:

100 slashers to halos

90 step-ups

80 tire flips

70 box jumps

60 sand bag get ups

50 triceps push downs

40 frog jumps

30 bent over rows

20  dumbbell shoulder press

10 dead-lifts

What a sweat sesh that was! It took a little over an hour to get through it but I’m glad I pushed myself. MY favorite exercise out of the workout was tire flips. I’ve been wanting to incorporate them into my workouts and happy I finally did. They are a great exercise to target your glutes, quads, and forearms.

Along with changing up my workout routine I have been jumping on the bike to switch up my cardio. I always underestimate the bike but I have been getting a great sweat out of it racking up 6-10 miles at a time.

What type of workouts do you incorporate into your day to day routine? Are you a fan of circuit training?

Give this workout a try and let me know what you think!
